Our Lady of La Leche

Beautifully detailed statue of Our Lady of La Leche.  This statue is hand crafted and painted and as a result, fine details may vary.  5-1/2" tall with a 2-1/2"  base.  Imported from Columbia, made from plaster.  This statue is depicted with Jesus not have a crown but the statues that we have to ship, do in fact have a crown on both Jesus and Our Lady.

Nuestra Senora de La Leche y Buen Parto, or Our Nursing Mother of Happy Delivery, is one of the oldest Marian devotions tracing back to Jerusalem in the 4th century. The devotion spread in the middle ages after the Crusaders came back from the Holy Land. Intercession from Our Lady of the Milk has saved mothers and children during childbirth. The first shrine of Our Lady was established by Spanish settlers in St. Augustine, Florida.
