About our dear Saint Francis: Saint Francis of Assisi, whose feast day is October 4, chose to leave his rich life. He decided to live in poverty and serve God. His famous prayer begins: "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace." He's beloved for his childlike joy and deep connection to nature.
